New Business Development Manager - Audio Visual and Managed ICT Services

Location: Midlands

Atomwide is the education division of The AdEPT Technology Group Plc.

We are a successful, friendly IT company specialising in providing managed ICT services to education and public sector with over 3,000 schools as its customers. Due to on-going expansion we are seeking to recruit a full time New Business Development Manager to target opportunities across the Midlands across Schools, Multi Academy Trusts, Local Authorities and other Public Sector and some Corporate organisations.

The successful candidate will be experienced in and required to source new business opportunities and promote and sell services from across an extensive and growing product range.

Key Tasks:

  • Lead generation and visits to source new sales opportunities
  • Interaction with marketing and telemarketing to help target new business opportunities
  • Following up sales leads and enquires
  • Working towards and achieving sales targets
  • Compiling and sending quotations
  • Supporting Sales Director in larger opportunities and tenders

Desired Skills:

  • Good presentation skills
  • History of consistently achieving sales/company objectives
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Junior Technical Support Engineer

An excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in IT. Atomwide are a renowned managed services provider based in the South East. Our services include our own intellectual property including authentication, web filtering and email filtering.

We are looking for a new Junior Technical Support Engineer to join our vibrant team, learn our product portfolio, and work as part of our leading supporting team to ensure our customers are getting the most from our technology. Experience is not essential , expert training is provided and you will get hands on experience in online security, networking, servers, firewall configuration, data handling, communications and cloud services amongst others.

Required Skills:

Front & Backend Software Developer

You will be joining a profitable market leading organisation who are looking for an experienced Software Developer to build, implement and maintain functional programs. You will work with a small team of Developers and Project/Product Managers throughout the software development life cycle.

You will need the following technical skills:

  • Front-end web design abilities – strong skills in HTML, CSS & Bootstrap
  • Client-side script technologies – strong skills in JavaScript; ideally fluent, or some experience of Knockout and/or React.js and/or Vue.js
  • Both Microsoft ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core, using C# or VB
  • Relational databases – moderate/strong Microsoft SQL Server skills, some exposure to Postgres & MySQL welcomed
  • Web service consumption – some experience of consuming SOAP, JSON, RESTful services
  • Source/version control (preferably Git)
  • Entity Framework

Experience of the following would be beneficial but not essential:

  • App development in React Native
  • Authentication technologies such as SAML & OAuth

Software Developers are expected to:

Field Installation Engineer

Full Time : 52 weeks per year : 40 hour working week

Atomwide is a successful, friendly IT company specialising in providing managed ICT services within the education sector. We have over 3,000 schools in our growing customer base and are looking for a Field Installation Engineer to join our installation team.

Key Tasks

  • Installation of VoIP, CCTV and WiFi systems within a school environment
  • Installation of new and extending existing data cabling infrastructures
  • Installation of Audio Visual equipment with a school, HE and FE environment
  • Conducting site surveys, providing detailed written reports of your findings

School-based IT Support Technician

Full Time : 52 weeks per year : 40 hour working week

The position is school-based during term time, while during school holidays it will be based at Atomwide’s Orpington offices but include on-site installation work.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing day-to-day IT support for a number of schools anticipated to be up to three (principally primary). In general, one day per term week will be spent at each school the remaining days would be as a support technician based in Atomwide’s Orpington offices. All schools will be located inside the M25, and typically within 15 miles of Atomwide’s Orpington offices.

Job obligations

  • Maintain each school’s network, including management of daily backups, anti-virus tools and software licences.
  • Handle file, application and hardware maintenance plus related support tasks as required by the school’s policies and as instructed by local staff.
  • Manage and maintain the school’s LGfL 2.0 WAN connection, and act as a Nominated Contact for the school.
  • Act as a liaison between the senior management team of the school and Atomwide.

Skill set

Demonstrate an understanding of:

  • Microsoft Windows operating systems and their use in a local area network environment.
  • Cisco and D-Link networking technology.

Demonstrate an ability to:

  • Interact with both Atomwide staff and school staff, whether technical or non-technical, in an approachable way.
  • Realise opportunities to improve the day to day running of a schools network and enhance the school staff user experience through the use of both new and existing technologies.

IT Network & Server Engineer

Would you like to work for a leading privately owned technology company? We require an IT Network & Server Engineer to work on the design, implementation and support of network infrastructure including firewalls, routers and switches.

Experience

You will be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of at least 3 of the following technologies:

  • Cisco networking technology
    • Security (Firewalls, VPN, IPS)
    • Switching, routing
    • Routers
  • Big IP F5 load balancing technology
  • Cisco VOIP systems
  • HP Blade server & SAN technology

It would also be helpful to have a broad understanding of the following technologies:

  • Microsoft Server
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Microsoft SQL

Role

  • Design, implementation and support of network infrastructure including firewalls, routers and switches
  • Policy creation, management and documentation regarding remote user connectivity (VPNs, VPN tunnels)
  • Configuration/setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of servers
  • Application and operating system tuning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Participation in infrastructure and capacity planning
  • Installation of new Networking Equipment and Servers
  • Recommendation and implementation of modifications to the server environment, including troubleshooting and replacement of faulty system hardware
  • Performance of routine server updates/patching and software deployments
  • Provision of solutions and working closely with helpdesk support staff to support day to day activities
  • Excellent problem solving ability and time management practices
  • Ability to quickly understand and evaluate new technologies as required
